KGST Stablecoin Trading Volume Surpasses $5 Billion in Kyrgyzstan
The market for stablecoins pegged to local currencies is growing rapidly in Kyrgyzstan. One such instrument is KGST, a digital asset whose value is tied directly to the national currency at a ratio of 1:1.
This development allows users to bypass intermediate steps when switching between traditional money and digital assets. Instead of first converting their KGS into a dollar-pegged stablecoin before trading in crypto-assets, they can now do so directly with KGST.
According to Binance Research, the aggregate trading volume of local stablecoins, including KGST, has exceeded $5 billion since 2025. This significant growth indicates that stablecoins are increasingly being used not only for trading but also as a bridge between traditional and digital assets.
