Korea's Crypto Market Transforms into Institutional Hub

South Korea is undergoing a significant transformation in its cryptocurrency market, moving away from its reputation as a hub for retail traders and towards becoming a center for institutional digital finance.

This shift is driven by the efforts of individuals such as Andrew Park, CEO of Factblock and organizer of Korea Blockchain Week. A veteran of traditional finance with over two decades of experience in legacy banking, Park notes that global companies are now more interested in exploring the Korean market's infrastructure and regulatory framework rather than just focusing on token prices.

Park points out that while exchange trading volumes may not have increased significantly, the types of questions being asked by international firms have changed. They are now seeking information on custody, tokenization, stablecoins, payment and settlement infrastructure, regulation, and market entry strategies.
