The Democratic Party of Korea is creating a dedicated digital asset panel within its internal innovation body Mega Ten. This move aims to speed up legislation on digital assets, including stablecoins.

Rep. Ahn Do-geol said at a seminar that the party will focus on addressing the Digital Asset Framework Act and related rules through this new panel.

The panel will replace the party's existing digital asset task force and will be led by former lawmaker Lee Yong-woo, who previously served as CEO of KakaoBank (323410).

The party plans to accelerate work on digital asset legislation, with a public hearing on the Digital Asset Framework Act expected to begin later this month.
