Kraken and MEXC Team Up to Smooth Transition for Netherlands-Based Users
Kraken and MEXC have partnered to ensure a smooth transition for Netherlands-based users of the latter's platform. As part of its regional reconfiguration in Europe, MEXC has decided to discontinue its offering in the Dutch market.
The agreement between the two exchanges aims to minimize disruption for affected users, who will be redirected to Kraken's platform, covering both spot market and derivatives clients. Both companies will provide referral and transition support during the migration period.
Kraken stands out in Europe due to its regulatory standing, having obtained authorization under the MiCA framework through the Central Bank of Ireland in June 2025, along with a MiFID authorization from CySEC for derivatives operations and an electronic money license also issued by the Central Bank of Ireland. This combination makes Kraken one of the platforms with the broadest regulatory presence on the continent.
