Kraken Cuts Off UAE Customers from Seven Crypto Assets Ahead of Liquidation
Kraken is closing withdrawals for seven crypto assets held by its United Arab Emirates customers at 14:00 UTC on Monday, September 14. The affected assets are Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), Dash (DASH), USDD, Dai (DAI), USDS, and Ethena USD (USDE).
After the withdrawal deadline passes, any remaining balances of these assets will be subject to liquidation by Kraken. The exchange has scheduled this process for September 15-25, but has not guaranteed the currency that customers will receive in return.
The UAE delisting notice applies specifically to clients residing in the United Arab Emirates and does not affect their ability to trade or deposit these assets at other exchanges. However, it is unclear what happens to open margin positions and whether they will be automatically closed as part of this process.
