Kraken Delisting Leaves Users Stranded
Kraken has announced that it will be delisting 21 tokens from its platform by August 27, 2026. This means that trading and deposits for these assets will be disabled after this date. However, withdrawals are still possible until the deadline.
The exchange has stated that it will automatically liquidate any remaining balances between September 1-5, which could result in sale proceeds being significantly lower than their last traded price.
A study by cryptoticker.io found that for 16 of these tokens, none of the five European exchanges checked (Bitvavo, Coinbase, Bitpanda, Bitstamp, and Kraken) had an enabled entry on August 21, 2026. This means that users may need to hold onto these assets in their own wallets.
The study also found that for some tokens, such as FARM, BOND, SAROS, SPC, NYM, there were limited options available. For example, FARM can be deposited on Coinbase and Bitpanda, but the other four tokens have fewer or no options.
