Kraken Delists 21 Cryptocurrencies Amid Thin Market Conditions
Kraken has announced that it will be delisting 21 cryptocurrencies from its platform. Trading and deposits for these assets will cease on September 11, 2026 at 14:00 UTC.
The exchange cited 'limited or inactive markets' as the reason for the delisting, warning that a forced sale of remaining balances after December 10 may fall significantly below current reference prices.
In a surprising twist, our investigation found that none of the major European exchanges (Bitvavo, Coinbase, and Bitstamp) offer an active deposit or trading route for any of these 21 assets. This means that users have limited options for what to do with their holdings after Kraken's delisting.
Users are faced with a decision: sell their tokens on Kraken before September 11, or withdraw them and hold them in self-custody. However, as our survey showed, the latter option may be tricky due to the rarity of wallets that support these chains.
