Kraken Expands Services with US-Listed Stock Trading for EEA Customers
Kraken has expanded its services to include trading in over 7,000 US-listed stocks for customers in the European Economic Area (EEA). This move marks a significant development in the company's traditional finance offerings, which already include cryptocurrencies and tokenized equities.
The new service is available through Kraken Pro and its mobile app, under the company’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II authorization. Eligible EEA customers can trade US stocks commission-free, subject to applicable conditions.
Kraken has been offering xStocks since 2025, which allows users to invest in tokenized versions of publicly listed equities and exchange-traded funds. The company claims that xStocks has generated over $38 billion in total transaction volume as of Monday.
As of this week, xStocks is the second-largest tokenized stock issuer by market capitalization, with approximately $609 million, behind Ondo Finance with about $974 million, according to Token Terminal data.
