Kraken Parent Company Sees Revenue Growth Amid Declining Trading Volume

Share

Kraken's parent company, Payward, reported adjusted revenue of $508 million for Q2 2026, marking a 17% increase from the previous year. The company attributed this growth to its diversification beyond traditional spot cryptocurrency trading.

Payward also saw an 18% decrease in overall platform transactions to $310 billion, primarily due to a decline in spot crypto activity and an increase in stocks and tokenized stocks. However, despite this drop, the company's assets totaled $40 billion, with real assets climbing 48% year-over-year to $65 billion.

The growth in funded accounts was significant, increasing by 42% to 6.6 million, with Europe seeing the biggest increase after MiCA authorization. Asset-based and other revenue grew from 55% of total revenue in Q2 2025 to 60% in Q2 2026.

Payward's operations are structured around four key pillars: services, banking, trading, and asset management. Tokenization is playing a crucial role in the company's strategy, along with AI. Payward also claims to have more than 100 licenses and registrations worldwide, giving it an edge over competitors.
