Kraken Parent Grants Voting Rights to Tokenized Stock Holders
Payward, the parent company of US cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, is set to grant voting rights to holders of tokenized stocks on its xStocks platform.
This move marks a significant shift in how tokenized securities interact with corporate governance, as previously these token holders did not have voting privileges unlike traditional shareholders.
xStocks has reportedly surpassed $25 billion in cumulative trading volume and has been expanding its offerings, including a recent cooperation with Broadridge, a global financial services technology firm.
Through this integration, xStocks token holders may soon be able to participate in shareholder votes, bridging the gap between tokenized stocks and traditional equity ownership.
