Kraken Parent Payward Eyes 2027 Q2 for Delayed IPO Plans

Share

Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, may delay its initial public offering (IPO) to the second quarter of 2027, according to a report by CoinDesk.

The news comes after Payward raised $800 million in funding last November at a valuation of $20 billion, with Citadel Securities investing $2 billion as part of a strategic partnership.

Payward had initially filed a draft registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in November 2025 for an IPO, but later paused its plans due to market conditions.

Despite the delay, Payward has continued to expand its business, partnering with Nasdaq to enable tokenized stock trading between regulated markets and blockchain networks.
