Kraken Restricts Accounts Amid Wave of Unsolicited Crypto Transfers

Virtual currency exchange Kraken has temporarily restricted customer accounts following a series of unsolicited crypto transfers.

Between August 17 and 24, nearly 12,000 small transfers arrived on Kraken's platform. These transfers were described as a 'dust attack' and appeared to originate from wallets linked to HTX, an exchange recently sanctioned by the EU and UK.

Kraken has restored access to affected accounts but isolated the disputed funds from customer balances.

HTX denies involvement in the incident and is investigating. Other exchanges like Coinbase and Binance also reported similar transfers amid ongoing sanctions enforcement.
