Kraken Unveils Plans for Eurozone Expansion of Regulated Crypto Options
Kraken is expanding its regulated crypto derivatives business by introducing European-style options for its BTC and ETH products. The exchange launched its options platform on July 16, initially available to eligible professional and institutional clients through a request-for-quote system.
The expansion plans include making the options platform available to eligible European clients in the second half of 2026, with a central order book expected to be introduced alongside additional assets and regions over time.
This move aims to strengthen Kraken's position in Europe's growing crypto derivatives market, where exchanges are competing for institutional and professional traders. The exchange supports more than 30 collateral currencies, reducing the need for traders to move assets between separate accounts when opening or managing positions.
