Kraken's Delisting Leaves Thousands Stranded

Share

Kraken is delisting 21 tokens from trading, affecting thousands of users. The exchange announced this move on May 14, 2026, and has been working through it in three stages since.

The last door for withdrawals closes on August 27 at 14:00 UTC. After that, Kraken will automatically sell remaining balances between September 1 and 5 to complete the delisting.

We analyzed the situation by querying six European exchanges (Bitvavo, Coinbase, Bitpanda, Bitstamp, Kraken, and Bitfinex) for enabled deposit or trading status on August 21. The results are striking: for 16 of the 21 tokens, no fallback exchange was found.

The concentration is on a single provider, Bitpanda, which lists four of the five tokens with an entry. If that one provider fails for your account, you'll be left with only your own wallet.
