Kraken's HIP-3 Test: Compliant DEX Experiment Sparks Speculation
A potential test of a compliant HIP-3 decentralized exchange (DEX) on Hyperliquid has raised questions about Kraken's possible involvement.
The development follows an announcement by Blockworks analyst Shaunda Devens that a deployer called 'Kraken HIP-3 test DEX' had activated a permission system known as Star gating on Hyperliquid's testnet.
The deployment has added 10 wallets to its approved-user list and tested three of five compliance controls observed on the testnet, including forced position reductions and collateral transfers. However, Kraken has not confirmed that it owns or operates the testnet deployment.
