Kraken's Parent Company Delays IPO Until Q2 2027 Amid Market Volatility
Kraken's parent company Payward has delayed its initial public offering (IPO) until at least the second quarter of 2027, citing difficult market conditions. The news comes after the company confidentially submitted a draft S-1 registration statement in November 2025 and raised $800 million at a $20 billion valuation.
Payward's decision to postpone its IPO is not surprising given the current market environment. Weaker cryptocurrency prices, lower trading volumes, and poor share performance of recently listed companies have reduced investor interest in digital asset stocks.
Despite the delay, Payward has continued to expand its operations. The company reported a 17% increase in second-quarter adjusted revenue to $508 million, with funded accounts rising 42% year-over-year to 6.6 million and assets held on the platform reaching $40 billion.
