Kroenke Buys LA Angels in Record-Breaking Deal
Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno is selling his MLB franchise to Stan Kroenke through Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. The sale, expected to close in Q1 2027, would set a record price for an MLB team, surpassing the recent $3.9 billion sale of the San Diego Padres.
The Angels have been valued at $2.8 billion by Forbes. Moreno purchased the team from Disney in 2003 for $184 million and has overseen a .506 winning percentage during his tenure.
Kroenke's KSE portfolio includes the LA Rams, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids, and Arsenal FC. Kroenke expressed enthusiasm about owning the Angels, stating 'The Angels are a storied franchise anchored in a great market. We look forward to an exciting future with the Angels organization.'
