KSNET Tests AI Agent Payments in Korean Hackathon
KSNET, a Korean payments company, has partnered with Google Cloud and Solana Foundation in a hackathon to develop AI agent payments. The event aims to create services where AI agents can search, decide, and complete payments within a preset limit using Google's Gemini and Solana's on-chain payment infrastructure.
KSNET will be mentoring teams during the hackathon period and joining the judging at demo day. This is not a commercial deployment of Solana Pay to 330,000 Korean merchants as previously claimed.
The company is testing agent-payment technology in a proof-of-concept with Kbank and Lambda256, which involves digital-asset settlement off-ramp and AML verification process. This effort focuses on developing infrastructure for regulated payments companies to explain the flow of transactions.
