KuCoin Achieves ISO/IEC 42001 Certification for Responsible AI Governance
KuCoin has received ISO/IEC 42001 certification for its Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS), reflecting its focus on responsible AI governance. The company views this certification as a key component of its digital asset infrastructure, which relies increasingly on AI in areas like risk management and customer service.
According to BC Wong, CEO of KuCoin, 'AI is becoming a foundational capability of digital financial infrastructure, but greater capability must be matched by greater responsibility.' He emphasized the company's commitment to embedding responsible AI governance into its operations, ensuring that every AI capability is transparent, accountable, and designed to strengthen user trust.
The ISO/IEC 42001 certification covers KuCoin's AI management system and supporting organizational functions. This internationally recognized standard provides a structured framework for managing AI, complementing the company's existing certifications in information security (ISO/IEC 27001), operational reliability (SOC 2 Type II attestation), and business continuity and operational resilience (ISO 22301).
