KuCoin Cuts Lending Threshold by Two-Thirds in Push for Unified Capital Access
KuCoin has made a significant move to attract institutional traders by slashing the threshold for its interest-free lending program. The crypto exchange announced on September 1 that newly registered API clients now need just 10 million USDT in external 30-day trading volume to qualify for the Institutional Interest-Free Lending Program, down from the previous 30 million USDT threshold.
The updated terms include 0% interest for the first two months with no volume requirement attached, and eligible participants can borrow as much as 3 million USDT. The centerpiece of the upgrade is integration with KuCoin's Unified Trading Account (UTA), an account framework that lets users manage capital across supported trading products through a single structure.
The move targets a persistent pain point for institutions: capital fragmentation. As professional teams run increasingly complex strategies across multiple products, funds often end up scattered across accounts, driving up costs and creating operational friction. By bringing financing closer to execution, KuCoin is betting that institutions will find it easier to use collateral efficiently and deploy capital where it is needed most.
