KULR Exits Crypto Treasury Strategy After Selling Remaining 764 BTC
KULR Technology Group has completely exited its crypto treasury strategy by selling off its remaining 764 BTC for $58.6 million. The company had built up a stash of approximately 1,097 BTC through direct purchases, mining operations, and a credit facility with Coinbase.
In July 2026, KULR sold around 333 BTC for about $21.5 million at an average price of $64,538 per coin. This sale was used to pay off a $20 million loan from Coinbase, freeing up the remaining coins. The company then sold these over several weeks at a significantly higher price, with a weighted average of $76,633 per BTC.
The decision to liquidate its Bitcoin holdings marks a shift for KULR, which had initially adopted a crypto treasury strategy in late 2024. The company's leadership likely considered the risks associated with holding such a significant amount of Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
