Kusama's 74-Day Silence Sparks Speculation Among Shiba Inu Community
Shytoshi Kusama, the lead ambassador for the Shiba Inu project, has been absent from social media platform X for 74 days. This is one of his longest periods of inactivity to date, with some previous stretches seen in late 2025 and into 2026.
Kusama has historically engaged with the Shiba Inu community through regular updates and live broadcasts on X, but since May 13, there have been no posts or interactions from him. His current silence has sparked speculation within the community that an update may soon follow, given his past tendency to return with fresh information after a hiatus.
Despite Kusama's absence, community-powered SHIB burn campaigns continue to thrive. On-chain tracker Shibburn reports that 7.15 million SHIB tokens were burned in the last 24 hours, marking a 66% increase in the daily burn rate. Over the past seven days, 60.58 million SHIB were burned, bringing the 30-day total to 288.61 million.
