KyberSwap Bolsters DeFi Offerings with Reality-issued rTokens
KyberSwap has expanded its offerings to include Reality-issued rTokens, which allow eligible users to trade tokenized versions of US stocks and ETFs on the decentralized exchange aggregator.
The integration connects one of DeFi's veteran trading platforms with a rapidly growing catalog of equity-linked tokens, spanning over 1,700 securities. Reality's rTokens are ERC-20 tokens backed 1:1 by actual equities held in custody through Alpaca Securities, with daily third-party attestations conducted by The Network Firm to verify reserves.
rTokens track their underlying equity with a 1:1 economic exposure model. When someone mints an rToken, a corresponding share sits in custody. When they burn it, the share gets released. By August 6, 2026, Reality's tokenized assets had reached approximately $138 million in market capitalization.
The KyberSwap integration allows eligible users to swap these tokenized equities against major tokens like ETH and USDT without needing to convert into specific stablecoins first. rTokens are standard ERC-20 tokens that can be plugged into other DeFi applications: used as collateral for lending protocols, deposited into liquidity pools, or bundled into yield strategies.
rTokens are classified as unregistered securities and are available only to eligible non-US persons in certain permitted jurisdictions, including El Salvador, South Africa, and New Zealand. The list of approved countries is not exhaustive, but it represents a significant expansion of access to tokenized equities.
