$LAPTOP Coin: Hunter Biden Tackles Trump Family Crypto Venture
Hunter Biden is launching a new cryptocurrency, $LAPTOP, which pokes fun at his infamous laptop scandal in 2020. The meme coin will debut on Coinbase's Base blockchain network on Wednesday, coinciding with President Donald Trump's midterms convention in Dallas, Texas.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the coin will have a total supply of one billion tokens and be available within two years. Twenty percent of the coins will go to those who lost money investing in the $TRUMP coin or subscribed to Biden's newsletter, while 20 percent will be retained by the founders.
The remaining 30 percent will be 'burned' if a series of conditions are met, including a Democrat winning the 2028 presidential election and Bitcoin reaching an all-time high. If these conditions occur, the coins would become scarcer, potentially increasing their value.
