$LAPTOP Coin Launches Amid Meme Coin Frenzy

Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, has announced the launch of his own meme coin, $LAPTOP. The coin is named after the controversy surrounding Hunter's laptop in 2020 and will be available on the crypto exchange Base, built by Coinbase, starting September 9.

The one billion tokens issued for $LAPTOP will go to its founders, including Biden, as well as to crypto wallets that lost money on a previous meme coin launched by President Trump. Subscribers to Biden's Substack and people on a mailing list curated by a friend of Biden's will also receive tokens.

Meme coins often surge in price due to social media hype around their launch but lack intrinsic value, making them highly speculative investments.
