LAPTOP Meme Coin Crashes 99% Hours After Launch Amidst Base Network Scandals
Hunter Biden's cryptocurrency project, LAPTOP ($LAPTOP), experienced a catastrophic collapse within hours of its launch on Base. The meme coin plummeted by 99.2% from an intraday high of $199.51.
The laptop, which gained notoriety in October 2020 after the New York Post reported on emails linked to Biden, was transformed into a token. 'They turned laptop into a weapon. I turned it into a token,' Biden posted on X.
Crypto investigator Stephen Findeisen, also known as Coffeezilla, had warned his audience against purchasing LAPTOP, stating 'Do not buy it.'
The token drew imitators before trading began, with over a dozen counterfeit coins emerging across Solana, BNB Chain, and TON. These counterfeits traded around $6.9 million combined but lacked official contract addresses due to the absence of published information.
