Hunter Biden is entering the cryptocurrency market with a meme coin named $LAPTOP. The token is tied to an infamous laptop controversy that emerged during the 2020 presidential campaign.
The announcement follows a July Substack post by Hunter Biden, in which he challenged the laptop's provenance and chain of custody while acknowledging it contained records from a period when he was struggling with addiction.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the coin is aimed in part at President Donald Trump, a longtime political foe of the Biden family. The token is scheduled to launch on Tuesday on Base, Coinbase's blockchain network.
