Hunter Biden's new cryptocurrency project, $LAPTOP, is set to launch on September 9 through Coinbase's Base network. The token will have a limited supply of 1 billion tokens, with 20% reserved for airdrops targeting wallets that lost money on Trump's TRUMP memecoin and subscriptions to Biden's Substack.
The $LAPTOP project is tied to political events and crypto-market milestones. For example, up to 30% of the supply can be burned if certain conditions are met, such as a Democrat winning the presidency in 2028 or a new Bitcoin record being set.
Biden's project aims to capitalize on the notorious laptop affair that became a politicized issue during Trump's presidency. The launch strategy includes targeting TRUMP holders who lost money after its market capitalization tanked from near $15 billion to around $600 million.
