Hunter Biden's new memecoin, LAPTOP, suffered a brutal debut on Wednesday, losing over 95% of its value in the first hour of trading.

The token, which was launched to commemorate a MacBook reportedly left behind by Biden at a repair shop in 2019, crashed from an initial price of $0.05 per token to just $0.8562, according to CoinGecko data.

Biden denied profiting from the memecoin's launch, stating that neither he nor his team had sold any tokens and that their allocation was locked.

He blamed the price action on 'snipers,' or trading bots, which quickly swooped up tokens when trading opened due to insufficient liquidity.
