$LAPTOP Memecoin Promotions Scrapped Amid Crypto Community Backlash

Pump Fun and Kraken deleted their promotions for Hunter Biden's upcoming memecoin, $LAPTOP, after intense backlash from the crypto community.

The token was set to launch on Base on September 9, but its release drew criticism from numerous prominent crypto influencers. They compared it to previous celebrity launches that went poorly and called the pre-announced token a 'scam' that would dump their low-cap gems.

Kraken and Pump Fun initially promoted the token, saying it would be tradable on both platforms. However, Base's creator Jesse Pollak claimed they chose to be 'hands off' due to politics, while 30% of the memecoin's supply will go to Biden and his team.
