LAPTOP, a token created as a direct shot at former US President Donald Trump by one of crypto's louder converts, has seen $3.5 million worth of tokens burned after being mentioned by Eric Trump and digital artist Beeple.

The token is part of a unique concept that combines politics with tokenomics. It features 30 public predictions about real-world political outcomes, with each allocation having two possible endings: the event resolves to 'yes', and the tokens are burned; or the opposite scenario plays out, and the same tokens go to charity.

The project's dev team blamed predatory sniper bots and thin liquidity for the crash rather than insider selling. They noted that burns are triggered by public attention, making it possible for anyone with a large enough platform to move LAPTOP's supply simply by mentioning it.
