Layer-2 Rollups Disrupt Casino Funding with Cheaper, Faster Deposits
Ethereum's layer-2 rollups are changing the way players fund their casino accounts. While mainnet and its layer-2 networks are the same asset, they have very different economics when it comes to fees and confirmation speeds.
For a casino player, the difference is money and time on every transfer. Mainnet fees can range from cents to several dollars, while layer-2 rollups like Arbitrum and Optimism charge a fraction of a cent for transactions that settle in seconds.
The reason for this disparity lies in how layer-2 rollups process transactions away from mainnet and post compressed summaries back to it. This allows them to inherit Ethereum's settlement time while charging a small share of its fees.
