LayerZero Prepares Global Trading Platform Foundation Launch
LayerZero has announced plans to launch its global trading platform foundation called ATLAS by the end of the year. ATLAS is designed as a universal backend for global markets, not having its own front-end or consumer-facing apps.
It integrates order matching, settlement, payment, and risk management into a single technical stack, intended for use by service providers offering trading services as their backend.
ATLAS will offer two types of trading environments: Open ATLAS, designed for crypto-native trading services, and Institutional ATLAS, targeting financial institutions and exchanges. These platforms aim to support a wide range of markets including spot, perpetual futures, stocks, commodities, bonds, and prediction markets.
Notably, ATLAS will be built on top of LayerZero's blockchain, Zero, which is set for launch later this year with three initial zones: an EVM-compatible smart contract environment, an environment supporting all asset classes and market types, and a privacy-focused payment foundation.
