LayerZero Unveils ATLAS Exchange Platform with Decentralized Features
LayerZero Labs has unveiled ATLAS, a new exchange platform built on its Zero Layer-1 blockchain that aims to become the plumbing beneath global financial markets. The name stands for Aggregated Trading Liquidity and Settlement.
ATLAS is designed as a 'headless' exchange, providing the backend trading infrastructure while letting third parties build their own front-end interfaces on top. This approach invites the entire market to build on top of it, allowing exchanges, brokerages, and trading desks to plug into ATLAS's liquidity and settlement layer.
At launch, ATLAS is targeting 200,000 transactions per second on Zero Layer-1, which is comparable to Visa's network handling roughly 65,000 TPS at peak capacity. The platform promises traditional market efficiency while preserving decentralized features like self-custody and on-chain verifiability through zero-knowledge proofs.
The initial product focus will center on spot cryptocurrency trading and perpetual futures, with prediction markets and options on the roadmap for subsequent phases. Testnet operations are expected to begin soon, with a full launch planned for later in 2026.
