LayerZero Unveils ATLAS, Modular Trading Backend for Global Markets
LayerZero has introduced ATLAS, a universal backend for global markets. This headless exchange system is built on Zero and integrates matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management in one stack. The current test environment shows sub-millisecond median latency, with 1.418 milliseconds at p95 and 2.641 milliseconds at p99.
ATLAS can process up to 200,000 transactions per second, making it a potential solution for institutions and exchanges that need high-speed trading infrastructure. The system is designed to be modular, allowing operators to keep control of their customer experience while leveraging the underlying engine provided by ATLAS.
The architecture of ATLAS reflects the expansion of tokenized finance, with stablecoin supply growing from about $5 billion in 2020 to $320 billion. LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token standard has facilitated more than $290 billion in volume across over 160 chains.
