LayerZero Unveils Open ATLAS: A Hybrid Trading Platform
LayerZero Labs has launched ATLAS, an open-source trading platform that combines traditional exchange performance with decentralized systems' self-custody and transparency guarantees. ATLAS is a headless exchange backend that bundles matching, clearing, settlement, and risk management into a single unified framework.
The initial partners of Open ATLAS include GTE, Bullish, DefinedFi, and TrueNorth, who plan to build AI-powered trading tools on top of the infrastructure. These tools will target both crypto-native applications and prediction markets.
Bullish, an exchange backed by Peter Thiel and other high-profile investors, already operates a regulated trading venue. GTE focuses on trading execution, while DefinedFi specializes in on-chain data and analytics. TrueNorth has built a specialized AI for financial applications that claims 98% accuracy on finance-related tasks.
The full launch of ATLAS is scheduled for later in 2026, with additional technical details about the underlying technology expected in coming weeks. This move represents a significant expansion of scope beyond cross-chain messaging into the actual mechanics of trading.
