Lazarus Group Laundering Exposes DeFi's Screening Gap
The North Korean state-sponsored hacking unit, Lazarus Group, has been linked to over $30 million in Bitcoin trades on Hyperliquid this week.
Lazarus Group was blamed for the March 2022 Ronin Bridge breach, which drained $625 million. Analysts have since tracked Lazarus wallets cycling stolen funds through exchanges and mixing services before cashing out.
According to Emmett Gallic from Arkham researcher, the Lazarus-linked wallets routed stolen Bitcoin through Hyperliquid's order books rather than a centralized exchange.
