Lazarus Group Stirs up Crypto Market with $19 Million BTC Transfer
The North Korean-linked Lazarus Group has resumed activity after a period of dormancy. According to Arkham Intelligence, they transferred 244 BTC valued at approximately $19.42 million, rekindling concerns among market analysts.
This sudden transaction reignited worries about the group's history of orchestrating large-scale wallet movements before attempting to launder stolen assets.
The Lazarus Group's recent outgoing transaction represents almost its entire reserve of Bitcoin, leaving the collective wallet with a balance of 267.526 BTC worth about $20.97 million at current market prices of nearly $78,380 per coin.
Despite the significant amount moved, the transaction remains relatively small in the context of Bitcoin's daily trading volumes. Experts suggest it is unlikely to impact market prices directly.
