Lazarus Group's $7.74M Bitcoin Transfer Sparks Laundering Concern
North Korea's Lazarus Group has made another move in its laundering strategy, transferring 121.5 Bitcoin worth approximately $7.74 million on July 30, 2026, according to blockchain tracker Lookonchain.
This transfer is part of a pattern of smaller fund movements that analysts say often precedes a broader laundering cycle.
The Lazarus Group has been linked to some of the largest crypto thefts in recent history, including the $285 million exploit of Drift Protocol on April 1 and the $292 million breach of a KelpDAO bridge on April 18.
Since 2017, North Korean hackers have stolen more than $6 billion in digital assets, making the Lazarus Group the largest state-sponsored cyber theft operation in the world.
