Le Grand Residents Launch Data Center Project Amid Controversy
Jarrod Ulery, a master electrician from Le Grand, is building Marshall County's first Bitcoin mining facility near St. Anthony and has launched U R Energy with his daughter Blair Ulery Paxton as Chief Operating Officer.
The company aims to establish a Technology Learning Center on the property where they can educate the public about data centers and their impact on communities.
Ulery pointed out that many opinions about data centers are 'misconstrued' and not factual, citing misinformation spread by companies like Google and Facebook through social media apps.
'If data centers aren't the future, or if data centers aren't welcome in communities, then what else is? What is gonna keep these communities going?' Ulery asked, noting that manufacturing can be 'hit and miss' for Marshall County due to water supply limitations.
