Ledger Consolidates Security Oversight Amid Rising AI Threats

Ledger, a Paris-based hardware wallet maker, has appointed Oded Blatman as its combined Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Security Officer (CSO), effective September 9, 2026. This move aims to consolidate technology and security oversight in response to rising AI threats.

The crypto industry has seen a significant increase in hacks and exploits over the past year, with losses totaling $1.4 billion, according to Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet. The rise of AI-generated phishing campaigns and autonomous attack systems has forced companies to adapt their security measures.

Blatman joins Ledger from Fireblocks, where he served as CIO and CSO. In his new role, he will oversee cyber and infrastructure security, product security, physical security, enterprise risk management, and internal IT. This broader scope is a significant departure from traditional leadership roles in the industry.
