Ledger Says Ethereum App Patch Fixed Vulnerability Before Public Disclosure

According to Ledger's Chief Technology Officer Charles Guillemet, the company had already fixed a vulnerability in its Ethereum app before another security firm publicly disclosed the issue.

The bug affected certain clear signing flows, which allow users to review transaction details on their Ledger device screen before approving them.

Ledger used an artificial intelligence-powered system to discover the flaw and deployed a fix approximately two weeks before Guillemet's statement.

No confirmed thefts tied to this specific signing vulnerability had been reported by August 24, 2023.
