Lee and Visser Agree on Ethereum's AI Role Despite Disagreement on Timeline
Tom Lee and Jordi Visser recently debated the future of AI and its impact on cryptocurrency. According to Lee, the next leg of the AI trade will run through crypto payment rails rather than chips.
Lee, who chairs BitMine Immersion Technologies, the largest corporate holder of ether, argued that AI's easy money is not over yet. He expects a compression in returns followed by a rotation into new areas.
Visser disagrees, stating that the easy money from AI is already gone and investors should expect lower returns, around 30% per year instead of the previous seven or eight times.
Despite their differing views on the timeline, both Lee and Visser agree that Ethereum will play a significant role in the future of AI. Lee's company has a direct financial stake in Ethereum, with a $11.8 billion dependency on its price.
