Lee Jun-seok Proposes Blockchain Strategy for South Korea

Share

South Korea's Reform Party leader Lee Jun-seok believes blockchain should be a national strategy for his country. He argues that by designing trading structures and payment standards first, South Korea can secure leadership in global markets.

Lee proposes separating exchange and brokerage functions to open competition and creating a consolidated order book jointly operated by existing exchanges and financial investors.

He also suggests using a won-based stablecoin known as WonSCO for international payments, starting with cross-border transactions between South Korean users and foreign visitors.
