Lee Sees Ethereum Surging Past Bitcoin on Institutional Demand
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of BitMine, believes that Ethereum (ETH) has the potential to outperform Bitcoin (BTC) in the coming years. This prediction is based on his expectation of growing demand for Ethereum infrastructure as institutions begin to adopt tokenized products. According to Lee, Wall Street firms will increasingly place stocks, bonds, funds, and other assets on blockchain networks, driving up demand for Ethereum.
The ETH/BTC ratio has recently broken above a long-term downtrend, reaching 0.02994. This development is seen as a positive sign by Lee, who views it as evidence that markets are starting to price in the growing use of Ethereum. The current tailwind driving Ethereum's growth is expected to be larger than those seen during previous crypto cycles.
Lee also expects agentic AI systems to interact with blockchain networks, creating transactions and increasing demand for Ethereum infrastructure. This development could lead to a significant increase in the ETH/BTC ratio as more users adopt Ethereum for its programmable transactions and stablecoins.
