European startup Legora has made significant strides in automating financial document review using OpenAI's newly launched GPT-6 Astra. The company used the AI model to review 41 financial documents in a record-breaking time, achieving a nearly 40% improvement in workflow performance compared to its prior benchmarks.

The task of reviewing financial documents, also known as financial-statement tie-out, typically takes legal teams hours or even days to complete manually. Legora's use of GPT-6 Astra marks a significant leap in leveraging artificial intelligence for heavy-duty document processing.

According to Percevale Perks, Legal Engineer at Legora, 'The ability to ingest and process such a large volume of complex financial data is a game-changer.'

GPT-6 Astra's capabilities enabled the system to check every figure in draft accounts against supporting schedules, surfacing discrepancies like a £500,000 revenue note gap. The AI even preserved correct results from earlier models while completing 50 additional checks previously overlooked.
