Lepard Sees Bitcoin Rally as Chance for 4-6X Strategy Gains
Investor Lawrence Lepard sees the current crypto bear market as an opportunity to buy into Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy. He argues that the selloff is similar to previous cycle bottoms, where investors had already capitulated before prices recovered sharply.
Lepard claims that Strategy remains a leveraged play on Bitcoin, making it more volatile than holding BTC directly. He also disputes claims that Michael Saylor is taking excessive risks, saying the company's leverage remains well managed.
The investor expects Bitcoin to rise from around $60,000 to $180,000 within two years, representing a roughly 3x return for Bitcoin. Strategy shares could deliver 4x to 6x gains due to their leveraged exposure to Bitcoin.
Lepard points out that the company's capital plan makes sense, as it allows itself flexibility to sell Bitcoin and repurchase undervalued company shares if necessary. This move helps protect shareholders against aggressive short-selling and strengthens the company's capital structure.
