Leumi Launches Crypto Trading for Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana in Early 2027
Israel's largest bank, Bank Leumi, has announced plans to introduce cryptocurrency trading through its PEPPER digital banking unit in early 2027. The service will allow customers to trade Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana without building its own crypto systems, thanks to a partnership with Galaxy.
The bank will use GalaxyOne Institutional for digital-asset trading and Galaxy's custody infrastructure to safeguard customer holdings. According to Maya Ravia, the move is part of Leumi's efforts to expand advanced financial services for customers.
This latest development comes as Israel's crypto sector continues to grow, with a $22 billion onchain crypto value in the year through June 2025 and a 33% increase in activity across the Middle East and North Africa. Other traditional financial firms are also expanding into cryptocurrency services, such as Morgan Stanley and Galaxy's crypto lending model.
