Leumi Revives Crypto Trading Plans with Galaxy Digital Partnership
Bank Leumi, Israel's largest bank, is reviving its efforts to bring cryptocurrency trading to its customers. The bank has partnered with Galaxy Digital (GLXY) to provide institutional trading and custody infrastructure for Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), and other 'selected' cryptocurrencies.
Customers of Leumi's mobile digital banking arm, PEPPER, will be able to use the app to trade these assets in early 2027. This marks the second time Bank Leumi has announced plans to offer cryptocurrency trading services.
In a statement, Bank Leumi's Head of Strategy Maya Ravia said that this initiative represents 'a significant pillar of the bank's innovation strategy' and enables customers to access digital assets 'through one of the world's leading technological infrastructures.'
