Leveraged Trader Takes on Massive Bitcoin Long Position
A high-risk Bitcoin trader has taken out an enormous long position on the cryptocurrency, leveraging their capital by 40 times to control a $38.7 million trade.
The trader, known as '0x854', opened the position by buying 603.71 Bitcoin at a price of $64,469, a move that is already showing signs of strain due to the volatility in the market.
At current prices, the position has resulted in an unrealized loss of approximately $259,000, highlighting the risks involved with using high levels of leverage.
The trader's strategy involves employing short-term trades and typically closes positions within hours, often aiming to capture small price movements. This time, however, they have placed a series of limit buy orders totaling $31.44 million in an attempt to average down their entry price if the market dips.
